Quintana Beach
Quintana, TX

Quintana Beach County Park anchors the tiny town of Quintana in Brazoria County, a developed stretch of Gulf sand with a visitor center, showers, and a playground that make it an easy full day out. Drive a couple miles down the shoreline and the scene changes completely at Bryan Beach, a primitive, undeveloped run of sand at the mouth of the Brazos River where the crowds thin out fast.
Having both a fully equipped park and a genuinely wild beach minutes apart is rare on this coast, though the primitive side has zero facilities if something goes wrong.
How we score beachesThe county park side gets busy on holiday weekends, so if you want quiet, point the car toward Bryan Beach instead and let the tires down for the drive-on sand.
The county park charges five dollars to enter with a paved lot on site. Bryan Beach has free drive-on beach parking with no facilities.
The county park has a paved path from the lot to the sand and is ADA compliant. Bryan Beach is soft, undeveloped sand reached by driving straight onto the beach, no path or facilities.
Dogs must be leashed at the county park; Bryan Beach allows dogs off leash.
Summer is warm and busy with water in the low 80s, while hurricane season runs June through November and this low lying stretch of coast is one of the first to see evacuation orders.
This isn't one entrance, it's a stretch with a few. Here's where locals actually meet up.
