Terramar Beach
Galveston, TX

Terramar Beach is a roughly 590 home community on Galveston's West End with a genuine public Gulf beach access at Terramar Drive, separate from the private pool, marina, and boat launch the homeowners association runs for residents. Vehicle barricades mark where the public parking on the sand ends and the community's private stretch begins.
A workable public beach access on a stretch of coast mostly given over to a private HOA community, though there's little to draw a special trip beyond the sand itself.
How we score beachesStick to the marked public parking area at the Terramar Drive access. The barricades aren't just a suggestion, the beach past them belongs to the homeowners association.
Free parking directly on the sand at the Terramar Drive access point, Beach Access 31.
Vehicles park on the sand near the access point, no paved path.
Summer brings the busiest crowds and warmest water, low to mid 80s. Hurricane season runs June through November.
