Veterans Memorial Park sits right where the Seven Mile Bridge begins, its shallow, warm water and clear views of the historic span making it one of the more scenic quick stops in the lower Keys. It's a small park, more a place to pause and wade than settle in for a full beach day.

The Seven Mile Bridge view and calm, shallow water make it a worthwhile quick stop, though its small size means it's more a pause on a road trip than a full destination.

How we score beaches
Local Tip

Sources disagree on the current pet policy here, so check signage on arrival rather than assuming dogs are welcome on the sand. The bridge view alone is worth the short stop even without spending long on the beach itself.

Parking

Parking is free at this small county park at the west end of the Seven Mile Bridge.

Accessibility

The beach is a short, flat walk from the small lot, shallow and calm.

Pets

Reports on pets here conflict, so check current signage rather than assuming either way.

Weather & the best time to visit

Winter through spring is the Keys' driest, most popular stretch. Summer brings warmer water and hurricane season, June through November.
