White River Beach

White River Beach sits along Cyprus's wild western coast near Agios Georgios, where the Akamas Peninsula meets the Mediterranean and a seasonal stream, the source of the beach's name, cuts down from the Troodos foothills. Striking white stone formations line the shore, and the pebble beach stays far less crowded than the resort strips closer to Paphos.
A genuinely wild, uncrowded stretch of Cyprus's west coast, though the difficult access and occasionally rough surf mean it takes more care than the average pebble beach.
Wear proper water shoes. The beach is entirely pebble, and the surrounding rock formations make for slow, careful walking rather than a casual barefoot stroll.
A dirt track off the coast road near Agios Georgios leads to the beach, though road conditions can be rough, and the route has occasionally been disrupted by repair work.
There's no paved path down, just a rough track to the shore, and the pebble beach itself is uneven, not suited to strollers or limited mobility.
June through September brings the calmest sea conditions for swimming, while winter and spring bring the seasonal stream to life, though rougher waves and rocks make the sea itself less predictable outside summer.
